soju bbq website redesign

For this project, I selected a local business to redesign their website. I chose SoJu BBQ, which is a restaurant in Chicago that serves traditional and modern takes on Korean food. This was only a hypothetical client, so this website is not actually being used by the restaurant. For reference, this is the website they are currently using for the business.

I redesigned their logo in addition to the website. I wanted to give the branding a more “Korean” feel to it, so I used a bold calligraphic font for the logo, with a filled-in red “O” that has the word “soju” written inside of it in Korean. The “BBQ” lettering in the logo gives it a more modern flair, which is similar to the concept of the restaurant (Korean BBQ with a modern twist) The images were all sourced from social media and a few online articles.

I wrote almost all of the HTML and CSS from scratch, but I needed a little more copy-and-pasting for the JavaScript. I also learned how to use JavaScript plugins and libraries.

I am currently hosting this website on Github Pages, so you can view the whole website here at the link at the bottom of the page and see all my code on the repository here.

My initial style tile; I ended up not using the three colors on the right, and my links look different than what is showed here.

What the landing page looks like on a laptop, tablet, and mobile.

When you scroll down the menu page, this is what it looks like.

A tablet view of what it looks like when you get to the bottom of the home page.

A mobile view of the contact form on the Contact page.

View and interact with the live website for the best experience. (Note: contact form does not contact anyone)
